Reason for Pursuing CAPP Certification:
To build a strong foundation of broad parking knowledge to help further my career and strengthen my role as a consultant and strategic advisor to our clients.

Roadblocks or Obstacles Overcome on the Journey to CAPP Certification:
I entered the CAPP program in the days when you were required to attend each class and complete a curriculum prior to taking the exam. I’d like to say it was arduous, but in fact it was the highlight of my entire CAPP experience, building relationships with peers who to this day are some of my most trusted connections in the industry. I’d highly recommend today’s CAPP candidates invest the time and energy in the curriculum if possible.

Impact the Certification Has Made on Your Career:
I’m not even sure it’s easy to quantify. The connections and relationships I’ve built through the CAPP experience (both earning and retaining) have forged a career path in this industry I couldn’t have fathomed a decade ago. It’s allowed me to grow in new directions by exposing me to all facets of our industry and a wide network of professionals.

Best Advice for Those Considering CAPP Certification:
First, don’t hesitate—get your CAPP. It will open so many doors. Second, take the time to truly invest in the program, even if it’s just a partial part of the curriculum. Building a peer network through CAPP is one of the most valuable resources you will obtain.
